Markets in and around Alhama de Granada
All markets are open from roughly 10am til roughly 2pm. The weekly Friday market in Alhama (down the hill past Dia) is a great place to stock up on delicious local fruit and veg as well as clothes and local handicrafts.
There are weekly markets all over the area; here are some of our favourites. Trading clothes, shoes, leather goods, local produce and handicrafts, souvenirs and much more head for the weekly market in Nerja on Tuesdays (Almijara II Urbanisation) and Torre del Mar (Paseo de Larios) on Thursdays both open til about 2pm.
Quite a crush but a great cultural experience is the Sunday market in Malaga, just outside the Rosaleda football stadium, with stacks of new and used stuff.
There are two flea markets in the area, in Nerja (Almijara II Urbanisation) and Almunecar (Blas Infante Arch), both on Sunday mornings. This makes a great round trip - set off early heading for Fornes and take the Ruta de Cabra to Almunecar then head to Nerja and come back to Alhama via Velez Malaga and Ventas de Zafarraya. Lots of great scenery, find a place on the beach for lunch and take in a couple of great markets!
