Casa Esquina
Carefully and patiently renovated to the highest standard, Casa Esquina (Corner House) is a stunning house offering boutique-style accommodation at a very reasonable price. Our house has many of its original features including wooden beams and terracotta tiled floors but is also modern, comfortable and stylish. The kitchen/sitting room is charming and elegantly furnished with a log burner for getting cosy in winter evenings. Double doors open onto a pretty balcony which overlooks the traditional Andalucian street of Cuatro Esquinas. The bathroom has a modern design with mosaiced floor and delightful ‘rainwater’ shower. The L-shaped bedroom is romantic and pretty with a combined dressing area. Ideal for two people, our house can also comfortably sleep four as the sitting room has a curtained-off sleeping area which doubles as a Moroccan-style day bed perfect for lounging and siestas. When you arrive you will find a welcome pack full of goodies and loads of information about the town of Alhama, opening times, local bus times, recommended walks, bars, restaurants, etc. Casa Esquina is well situated at the top of Alhama with spectacular views from the terrace across town and out to the hills beyond. There is a little supermarket three doors down and the centre of town is only five minutes walk. There is a BBQ on the terrace, radiators in every room, fans for the summer, washing machine, and well stocked kitchen. Airport pick-up is available if you do not wish to rent a car. The whole house has been creatively designed to be very comfortable with many thoughtful details to make you feel pampered and completely at home.
There are some great options for going for a refreshing swim in the summer months. In the town of Alhama itself there is an outdoor pool with a lovely shaded/grassed area and a little bar. Less than 10 minutes drive out of town brings you to Pato Loco (Crazy Duck) which is a great rural restaurant with a swimming pool where you can relax and while away the afternoon. The Rio Alhama, in the gorge, has a number of delightful swimming holes. Gorgeous Lake Bermejales is a great place to swim as the water is cool and fresh; delightful after lunch and sunbathing on the shores.
Casa Esquina is next door to Casa Navidad so if you're travelling with a larger group you could book both houses - together they sleep up to eight people.

The rental is 275 euros a week for two people, 1st April to 31st October and Christmas/New Year and 220 euros a week outside of these times. For a 3rd and 4th person please add 30 euros per person per week in low season and 40 euros per person per week in high season.
